Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Nduhungirehe reminded DRC’s government Sporksperson Patrick Muyaya chaotic events registered in Congo during previous presidential election which took place in 2023.
Nduhungirehe reaction comes after Muyaya criticised Rwandan recent election, saying there was no reputable Observers to oversee the electoral activities.
Nduhungirehe reminded Muyaya that “Electoral campaign and the presidential and legislative elections in Rwanda took place in calm, joy and good humor throughout the territory and no violence was reported.”
Referring to what happened in DRC’s previous presidential election, Nduhungirehe went on saying that “No opponent ‘committed’ suicide with a machine gun in his car; no voting materials were found in the homes of ruling party members and no polling station was ransacked.”
Nduhungirehe continued reminding Muyaya that.”No voter was prevented from voting, to the point that the elections were described as “chaotic” by the episcopal conference;no message of hatred was uttered against any part of the national community; no officer of the national army has been lynched in public because of his appearance.”Nduhungirehe said
He added that unlike in DRC, in Rwanda.” There was no outgoing president who has threatened, during the electoral campaign, to overthrow the government of a neighboring state or to bomb its capital and
for the “recycling” of opposition candidates, Nduhungirehe reiterates that “those who talk about it the most who eat the most”, given that this recycling is a Congolese specialty.”
Regarding the fact that “no reputable observation mission” has been deployed in Rwanda, Ndungirehe told Muyaya that “I note that several observation missions are currently in Kigali, including those of the fricanUnion, COMESA, EAC, CEEAC, ECCAS and even OIF, five regional and international organizations of which the DRC is a full member.”
He said that he did not know that the government of the DRC is still living in a bygone era of intellectual and moral ‘bleaching’ to the point of trying to discredit African organizations of which it is a member.
